My name is Angie Laginess and I’m an aspiring writer-teacher-poet working on a dual master’s degree at Eastern Michigan University in the fields of children’s literature and the teaching of writing. I have taught high school English in both Michigan and Las Vegas, but came back home to pursue my master’s and be close to family again. I love being on the water with a good book in hand, a nice glass of wine, and my boyfriend Nick. I’m always looking for more time in my day to do the things I love, but somehow life keeps getting in the way. I have a crazy weimaraner named Murphy who has been kicked out of numerous doggie day cares and has eaten more furniture than I can afford to replace. I’m on a constant quest for knowledge, laughter, and the perfect piece that might finally get me published.

I aspire, but I only write for myself. I may be the only “poet”/”write” who is afraid to actually acquire an audience! Best of luck with your own writing!!!
